Giugliano in Campania, the Carabinieri of the local radiomobile section have arrested for burglary, incitement to corruption and possession of altered keys, A. M., a 56-year-old from Pianura, already known to the police.

The Carabinieri noticed the man as he was climbing over a wall of a house on Via Campanella. The 56-year-old tried to escape, but was soon stopped. The recently stolen jewels were found in his pants and jacket pockets.

A pair of gloves and a screwdriver, likely used to force the front door of the house, were also seized. The man, who unsuccessfully tried to convince the Carabinieri not to arrest him, is awaiting trial.
