The collaboration between the Royal Palace of Caserta and the Eva cooperative continues for the collection of oranges from the royal park, which will be used to produce the Queens' Marmalade. Thanks to a memorandum of understanding between the Royal Palace and the coop, which has been engaged in prevention and contrast services against violence for years, also through the reuse of goods confiscated from the mafia, the citrus fruits of the green Museum have become an opportunity for social redemption and resource.
Until a few years ago, destined for natural decay, the oranges of the old forest, flora and English garden have now been given a new life in the Queens' Marmalade for three years. These days, the women of the social cooperative are at work to collect the fruits that have now ripened. They will then proceed, in the laboratory of "Le Ghiottonerie di casa Lorena" in Casal di Principe, to prepare and package the sweet spread. "With the production of this jam," says Tiziana Maffei, director of the Royal Palace of Caserta, "the Museum contributes to the paths of autonomy promoted by the cooperative in favor of women leaving situations of violence and in particularly difficult conditions."
The amount of fruit used will be more than 45%, as prescribed for "extra" jams and no preservatives will be added.
