On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Undersecretary of State for Defense, with responsibility for equal opportunities, Sen. Isabella Rauti, has organized a conference on the theme "Defense for Female Empowerment", which will be held in Naples on Tuesday, March 12th, at Piazza Plebiscito 33, at the Command of the Southern Operational Forces of the Army. The four panels of the event will see personalities from the political, diplomatic, military, and civilian defense sectors, as well as from the academic, social, and sports worlds, share their testimonies on the affirmation, enhancement, and valorization of the female role in the organization of Defense and within the framework of the United Nations "Women, Peace and Security" agenda. The conference will be linked to missions in Kosovo, Lebanon, Somalia - where the Armed Forces contingents support women through civil-military cooperation projects - and the Margottini ship of the Navy, commanded by a female officer. The event will be moderated by the Deputy Director of Tg2, Maria Antonietta Spadorcia.
