"Sustainable allegorical floats and handmade costumes by local craftsmen, this is how we aim to make our country known throughout Italy." Thus, the President of the Pro Loco Palomonte, Gerarda Mastrolia, tells the success of the historic Palomonte carnival that for about forty years, animates the towns of the Valle del Sele and Tanagro and whose grand finale of the 2024 edition, will take place on Sunday, March 3, starting at 2 pm, in the locality Bivio di Palomonte. An ancient carnival that of the town of Palomonte, organized by the Pro Loco Palomonte, in collaboration with the Municipality of Palomonte, which sees the entire country in celebration and which this year, has doubled the presence of tourists and curious people from all over the Salerno area in the town of Valle del Sele to admire the allegorical floats made with wood, recycled materials and papier-mâché, dance to the rhythm of disco music together with hundreds of extras with tailor-made costumes and taste the food and wine specialties served in the food area. After the success and applause for the two days of parades and performances of the allegorical floats and extras in the districts of Perrazze and Valle di Palomonte, now the most anticipated event of the year moves to the grand finale on Sunday, March 3, in Monsignor Palatucci square in Bivio di Palomonte where at 11 am there will be the opening of the food area, at 2 pm the parade of allegorical floats will begin followed by the award ceremony and from 6 pm, the dance evening with disco music animated by the DJs. Animation and fun but also art with the delivery of the prizes by a qualified jury of experts, to the allegorical floats that will be selected and to which will be delivered a series of plaques distinguished in: choreography, social theme, allegory, scenic impact, masks and costumes, elegance-simplicity, and finally, evolution-movement. The last two instead, special prizes in memory of two young float makers, Giada d'Elia and Adriano Chiola, who prematurely passed away in tragic circumstances.
