The jury of the 15th "City of Grottammare" literary contest (honorary president Dacia Maraini) has awarded the "Special Mention with medal and diploma" in the "Best Essay Award" section to Marco Liguori, author of the historical essay "Caterina Costa, the ship of mysteries" - De Ferrari Publisher. It is the story of the tragedy of the explosion of the merchant ship Caterina Costa, which occurred on March 28, 1943, in the Port of Naples during the Second World War: it cost the city more than 600 deaths and 3,000 injured. It is the second recognition for the journalist and writer Marco Liguori: in December 2022, he had won the Acqui Edito&Inedito Prize for the "Thesis / Historical Essay Section". The new award will be presented on Saturday, May 4th in Grottammare (Ascoli Piceno). With the same book, Marco Liguori is a finalist for the 2024 Italian Authors Award in Section A "Published Work": the award ceremony will be held at the Turin Book Fair on Friday, May 10th at 11:30 am.
