Municipal contracts and relationships with a sports company under the investigators' scrutiny. Judicial earthquake at the Municipality of Avellino: under house arrest are the former mayor of Avellino Gianluca Festa, the manager Filomena Smiraglia, and the architect Fabio Guerriero.

The military personnel from the operational unit of the investigative nucleus of Avellino and the judicial police section of the Guardia di Finanza were responsible for notifying the measures. Finance police and carabinieri are carrying out searches in the offices and homes of those under investigation. Mayor Festa resigned last March 26, and since yesterday, a prefectorial commissioner has been governing the Municipality.

Within the scope of the investigation coordinated by the investigative office of Avellino (prosecutor Domenico Airoma), those under investigation include, in addition to the deputy mayor Laura Nargi, also the municipal councilor Diego Guerriero, leader of the Viva la Libertà group, the civic list supporting Festa, Diego Guerriero's brother, Fabio Guerriero, who managed a company recipient of public contracts; another municipal manager, Filomena Smiraglia, the brothers Gennaro Canonico and Andrea Canonico, president and accountant of DelFes, a series B basketball team linked to Festa, which according to investigators had obtained sponsorships from companies awarded contracts and assignments by the municipality of Avellino.
