Mourning in the world of football. In these hours, Kurt Hamrin, the unforgettable Swedish champion who had made generations of fans fall in love with him by playing in Italy between the 60s and 70s with the shirts of Juventus, Padova, Fiorentina, Milan and also Napoli, has passed away. Above all in Florence he had managed to leave his mark: he wore the Viola shirt for nine years, collecting almost 300 appearances from 1958 to 1967 and becoming a flagbearer for them. With the Swedish national team, however, he finished second in the 1958 World Cup behind the unforgettable Brazil of Pele.

He arrived to wear the Italian shirt in 1969, on the sunset boulevard of his Italian career and after having already worn the Milan shirt in the two previous years. With Napoli, Hamrin - nicknamed 'The Bird' for his elegant and light way of being on the field - will collect 34 appearances and five goals, playing as a protagonist in the second season. He will retire at the end of his experience with Napoli but formally he will play the last games of his career at home, with the Stockholm shirt.

Even the Napoli club wanted to remember him on social media in these hours: «President Aurelio De Laurentiis, the managers, the technical staff, the team and the entire SSC Napoli express their condolences and emotion for the passing of Kurt Hamrin, a great footballer who Napoli had the privilege of having among its ranks for two seasons».
