Yesterday afternoon, on the beach of Santa Maria di Ricadi, south of the Cape Vaticano promontory in Calabria, human bones were found, returned by the waves of the sea after bad weather: specifically, it was a left foot, still slipped into a sock and shoe, identical to those found Sunday morning in Capaccio Paestum, on the beach of Licinella. It is, therefore, most likely the other mutilated limb of the same person: on the Cilento coast, in fact, the right foot had been found. Here too, the Carabinieri of Spilinga proceeded to collect the remains on the orders of the Prosecutor's Office of Vibo Valentia. Work is being carried out on several fronts in the hope that the victim can be identified quickly. At the moment, the hypotheses are multiple. It could be a victim of murder or a person drowned in other circumstances. The presence of a sock and a relatively well-preserved sports shoe, despite the action of the sea, suggests that the remains may belong to a person who died recently. The hypothesis that it is a migrant who died in the Mediterranean during a crossing to Italy is not excluded.
