"After the record tourist attendance at Easter, this weekend too we had tens of thousands of people. Naples now has a great appeal, there's no longer just the championship effect, but there's the Naples effect," said Teresa Armato, the city's tourism councilor, discussing the large tourist flows that are being recorded this April, which will conclude with the holidays of April 25th and May 1st. "We are committed," she added, "to ensuring that tourism is not a transient phenomenon but a factor of economic growth, employment, and well-being and that tourism is also compatible with the increase and guarantee of the quality of life of our citizens which means improving services and investing more from the tourist tax specifically to qualify the services." Regarding the possibility of increasing the tourist tax, Armato reiterated that "it was increased last year. Everything we do will be in concert with the main protagonists of the sector."
