Spiritual lauds, motets but also nocturnes and popular songs like “Cielito lindo” and “Funiculì, funiculà”: the concert titled “Sacrum et profanum” on Friday, April 19th, will animate the Sala Scarlatti of the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory offering an original instrumental journey dedicated to the accordion. The unprecedented project will feature the Accordion Ensemble of San Pietro a Majella and a large group from the “Il Diapason” music school of Trento. A characteristic of the concert will be the alternation of different ensembles that will see the accordion alongside, both solo and in ensemble, the cello, the clarinet, and a white voice choir. Suspended between pieces of religious matrix and compositions of secular inspiration, the program will focus on pages by Giovanni Animuccia, Bach, Händel, and Mozart as well as on compositions by contemporary authors like Daniele Anselmi and Ivano Battiston. The “Sacrum et profanum” project was curated by Francesco Gesualdi, accordion teacher at San Pietro a Majella, and will see the participation of Rolando Lucchi, director of the “Il Diapason” school of Trento, of Nicoletta Nicolini, director of the white and youth voice choir “Il Diapason”, and of Roberto Caberlotto, director of Accordions in Ensemble “Il Diapason”. The concert will start at 18:00.
