Two brothers, aged 33 and 35, residing in the provinces of Vicenza and Naples, have been placed under house arrest for about twenty frauds involving the misuse of credit cards carried out in the province of Vicenza between January and May 2023. The arrests were made by the Carabinieri of Vicenza, and the company of Bagnoli (Naples), on the orders of the GIP of Vicenza. The investigation, conducted by the Carabinieri of Piovene Rocchette, had been reported by a young man from Santorso who in May had received several messages from the sender 'PosteInfo' informing him that anomalous transactions had been recorded on the prepaid cards in his name. This was followed by a phone call from a so-called operator who anticipated the arrival of a courier, tasked with the collection of the blocked cards and the delivery of new ones. The withdrawal amounted to 3,000 euros. The same type of fraud was then reported by a young man from Monte di Malo, with a withdrawal of 8,000 euros, and in other municipalities of Vicenza, for a total estimated damage of over 50,000 euros. In addition to the two brothers identified by the military, another 11 people are under investigation for aiding and abetting, all holders of cards on which the sums of money from the scam were transferred.
