Less than 24 hours after the complaint was filed by the parish priest of the San Nicola Magno parish, in Santa Maria a Vico, the carabinieri of the local Station identified and reported the three people who, late last Saturday evening, using a can of black spray paint, defaced the external wall of the church with the inscription "we don't want drug addicts", disfiguring some monumental stones dating back to the 1600s. Immediate investigations, carried out by the military through the analysis of footage from cameras installed near the parish, allowed them to identify one of the perpetrators and, subsequently, following the findings contained in the chat messaging on his smartphone, they also identified the two young accomplices. At the home of one of the authors of the prank, a 37-year-old from Caserta, the carabinieri found and seized the spray can containing matte black acrylic paint, presumably used to deface the church wall. The man, along with the two accomplices, including a girl and a minor, were reported in a state of freedom and will have to answer for defacement and vandalism of other people's property in concert.
