More violence in the Ariano Irpino prison. An inmate violently attacked a penitentiary police officer. With an excuse, he made him approach the bars of the cell, then beat him. Other officers managed to restrain the prisoner. The victim of the aggression had to seek hospital treatment. The incident occurred in the eighth section of the city's facility. Stefano Sorice, local secretary of the Uilpa penitentiary police in Ariano Irpino, denounces 'the continuous aggressions on the penitentiary police personnel demonstrate how being men and women of the law requires an ever-increasing price that, while each individual agent is willing to pay in order to fulfill their institutional duties with conscience and correctness, on the other hand, requires society to question the tools, which are scant and sometimes inadequate, that are made available to the personnel.'
