La rotta della Bataan
Il Bataan Amphibious-Ready Group, composto dalla USS Bataan (LHD-5), dalla USS Carter Hall (LSD-50) e dalla USS Mesa Verde (LPD-19), insieme a circa 2.000 Marines della 26esima Marine Expeditionary Unit, ha attraversato lo Stretto di Gibilterra, tornando verso il porto di origine a Norfolk, in Virginia. La Bataan ARG è stata schierata per quasi 8 mesi dopo essere stata prolungata più volte nel Mediterraneo orientale a causa della guerra in Israele e della possibilità di un'evacuazione di non combattenti.
